An alternative to the non-EEA director bond for established companies.
An Irish company needs at least one EEA-resident director, unless it has a Section 137 bond or a certificate showing that it has a real and continuous link with economic activity in Ireland.
A company can show a real and continuous link if, for example, it carries on a trade in Ireland, or its affairs are managed from an Irish place of business by people authorised to act for it.
What the application needs
- Company registration number and tax reference number
- Irish trading address and registered office address
- Evidence of at least twelve months' trading in Ireland
- A description of the nature and duration of the link
Revenue assesses each application on its own merits. Once the certificate is granted and filed with the CRO, the company is exempt from the EEA-resident director requirement for as long as the certificate is valid.
What's included
Preparing the application, corresponding with Revenue and filing with the CRO.
